Bontebok Ridge Reserve
Experience a game drive through unique fynbos in the heart of the Cape Winelands, at Bontebok Ridge Reserve, courtesy of the hospitable Turner family, who have farmed in the Agter-Groenberg area for three generations.
Bontebok Ridge offers a rare opportunity to appreciate a variety of wildlife, including herds of Bontebok (found exclusively in the Cape), Eland, Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Springbok, Grey Rhebok, and other indigenous species, in their natural habitat. The reserve is also part of a unique Quagga-breeding project. In addition, a great number of bird species, from the small Cisticola to the amazing African Fish Eagle, can be seen. The majestic mountains add to the rugged appeal of this pristine Renosterveld.
After a leisurely 1½ hour drive through the reserve on an open Landrover, visitors can relax, unwind and enjoy sundowners and homegrown organic snacks (e.g. venison and fresh farm breads) at the lapa overlooking the picturesque dam, until it’s time to return to reality.
